Biographical Sketch

  • Husband and father (married 25 years to Carol, and we have raised our children – Teresa, Bryan and Christopher – in Pigeon, where I myself was raised)

  • Ordained minister for more than 20 years; associate pastor

  • Active community volunteer; helped organize local Habitat for Humanity projects, the Huron County Council for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect (CAN Council), Thumbresources.org, and the Homeless Coalition in Huron County

  • Avid hunter and sportsman

  • Former union president and union negotiator

  • Former principal/supervisor, Huron Learning Center, Huron Intermediate School District, Bad Axe (Special Education Center, Early Childhood Programs, Programs for At- risk and Services for Students with Behavioral & Emotional Issues)

  • Worked at Huron Intermediate School District for 23 years all together, starting as a social worker

  • Former college instructor and presenter for professional seminars and workshops
